Consider this approach during your next grocery run. When buying turkey, support Minnesota - America's top turkey-raising state with two female Democratic senators, Tina Smith and Amy Klobuchar. For potatoes, choose Washington state over Idaho, supporting Maria Cantwell and Patty Murray's progressive leadership.

This strategy extends beyond individual purchases to systemic change. Every dollar we spend is a vote for the kind of economy and society we want to build. When we consciously support businesses in blue states, we're reinforcing economic policies that align with our values: higher minimum wages, better worker protections, and environmental standards.

The dairy industry offers clear choices too. California and New York provide excellent alternatives to Wisconsin products, avoiding support for problematic senators like Ron Johnson who has voted against the Violence Against Women Act and called Roe v. Wade a "tragedy."

For wine and spirits, Oregon's progressive senators Jeff Merkley and Ron Wyden have championed environmental protection and social justice. Their state produces exceptional whiskeys and wines that deserve our support over products from states like Kentucky, home to Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul.
